Just Blaze

A flashy looking portable Megadrive is being released by Blaze and comes pre-loaded with 20 classic Megadrive games. Inside the machine you’re getting Sonic and Knuckles, Shinobi, Decap Attack, Flicky, Sonic Spinball and Jewel Master (which we really should get around to playing).

  • Plug & play portable video game system
  • 20 built-in SEGA licensed games
  • Built-in speakers
  • Colour LCD screen
  • TV out connection
  • TV format: PAL
  • Eats: 3 x AAA batteries (Batteries not included)

Hmm, looks interesting… is it emulation though, or “real” hardware? It would be nice to have a portable Megadrive like this that could also take real cartridges…

These have been available for around £20 from Play-Asia for the last 6 months at least, and are also now in Argos for around £30 I believe.

Nice little systems for the money but a couple of the games (Ristar and Sonic) tend to freeze/reset quite often. I believe that it is emulator based and has the ROMs burned-in, so there’s no way to add new games or connect real Megadrive hardware…
