A Retro Gamer reader has recently unearthed a secret for the SNES version of Shadowrun that has remained hidden for the past 20 years.
A recent interview with some of Shadowrun’s creators in issue 120 revealed that a secret involving a ‘dance around a lamp post’ had yet to remain discovered after all this time.
A member of Retro Gamer’s forum called GanonTek vowed to uncover the secret and set to work trying to find it by following the vague clues revealed in our feature (the developers couldn’t recall exactly how it was activated, just its general location).
Before long GanonTek began making progress and, aided and abetted by GameFaqs member JLukas, managed to find the secret warp room.
You can read the whole process of activating it here, but suffice to say it gives you access to a huge selection of doors that lead Monster Inc-style to various locations in the game, lots of cash and karma and everything else you need to make your life easier.
We’re amazed that a secret can remain uncovered for so long, so hats off to GanonTek and JLukas for finding it. We know what we’re playing tonight…
