Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD gets release date
Fans of the incoming port of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater will be pleased to hear that it is kicking off this year’s Xbox Live Summer Of Arcade.
The event will be taking part across five weeks and will also include Wreckateer (800 points) Deadlight (1200 Points) Hybrid (1200 Points) and finally Dust: An Elysian Tale (1200 Points). All five games looks set to cover a wide range of genres, but it’s Tony Hawk’s which we’re currently most excited about, as it looks like a cracking update.
Unlike many HD makeovers it has been built from the ground up, retaining the original classic gameplay, but looking good enough for today’s more discerning gamer. It’s effectively a remix of the first two games, featuring a selection of courses from each one. It will also feature the option to download levels from the third game, although hopefully these won’t be released on the same day.
Developer Robomodo hasn’t had the most successful of records with the Tony Hawk’s franchise, but this does look like they’ve finally nailed the classic gameplay of old. Only a little longer and we can deliver our verdict.
